Wow, thanks YK. That exquisitely captures the struggle, frustration and
injustice Black America felt and still feels (Been decades since I heard
this). To put into perspective Gill Scott-Heron was knowingly risking his
life speaking out like that back then. Push any group hard enough and
eventually they’ll push-back. But revolution only begins with a groundswell

Amen brother. To me, having lived through this era, I am reminded of a
different time and place in our country’s history. Starting in the 60’s
with war, mass protesting, riots, a rash of key assassinations still hard
to comprehend, conquering the moon, a president resigning for blatant
crimes, gas rationing and the renegade soul train line dancers! The big
fros, fashion, attitude…I don’t think most do understand the lyrics.
