my middle sister (53) saw my last post, and sent me this asking if i
recognized the lady with the white pant suit and riding boots dancing with
the wiggly guy and said i should keep in mind that it was 1976. least now i
know how my parents spent date night when i was 2!
lol those were the days.. I always considered myself to be more of a
rocker but I must confess to wearing my disco shirts w/ only one button
buttoned above my belt line. Of course I was awesome. (^_^)
Jodi Whatley and Jeffrey Daniel of Shalamar at 0:46, Jermaine Stewart (rip)
at 2:44….. Who remembers doing ¨The body Language¨dance in LA 1976 at 2:30,
I do.
I hope at some point some lady let Stevie rest his hands on her while she
got her groove on to this so he could know what fits of ecstasy and true
heavenly pleasure he’s given his dancing fans.
YES I DID… I WAS WONDERING IF I WAS THE ONLY ONE..;-} It looks like JD
just taught that routine to JW because Jody was looking confused and her
timing was off. I love Jody Watley AND Jeffrey Daniels. What a treat…
I’ve seen the super long-haired, short Asian or Hispanic dancer, who was a
regular dancer into the early ’80’s, on the first season episode of
“Charlie’s Angels” titled “Lady Killer” as one of the felines. I can’t
remember if she was credited or not.
If that is true it’s easy to find out just Youtube American Bandstand 60s
videos, I’ve seen a few and there are no black people. One of the main
reasons for Soultrains success was that it grew out of a need for
representation that didn’t exist in the era it was created. It actually
brought about the full scale integration of AB in the 70s which itself
obliged Soultrain to do the same in the mid-80s.
The female partner to the second duo to perform is/was off the chart
gorgeous.
People looked so athletic and trim before f’ing food additives fattened the
entire planet.
Nothing beats watching Soul Train
’76 was a good year for the Funk!
