Someone actually performing live on Soul Train. The Isley Brothers were all
big part of their sound even though Ronald sang lead most of the time.
I actually remember watching that episode when it first aired. Sad… :-)
This show was pure love. I think it was a major contribution to pop
culture, American culture and world culture. Thank you, Don, and everyone
involved, in the production of this great treasure.

Ever notice how the only dress-up attair for men that doesn’t look too
dated are the suits men wore back in the 30s; 40; and the early 50s? You
can see this when watching old classics on TMC. Perhaps this is because
those eras occurred before dress-up attair became more “flashy” rather than
conservative?

Wow, great episode of Soul Train, one of my favourite TV shows when I was
growing up in the 70s and early 80s. Stevie Wonder in his mid 70s soul funk
phase (love his precise funky synthesizer playing). And “Who’s That Lady”
is a sublime song. I like this somewhat faster live version as much as the
regular version. Who’s that lady singing the third song? She’s great, but I
never heard of her before.
So Kelly was the businessman of the group? That probably explains why
Ronald had so many financial problems later on in life. Kelly had passed,
and naturally was no longer handling those duties. You never heard of any
financial problems while Kelly was alive and in the group. R.I.P. Kelly and
Marvin, and brother Vernon as well.

was called “Senior Breeze”. Those were the days we would have great fun! I
played out my album of ‘Voyage to Atlantis” until it skipped. Had to buy
another one! “1974”

For the few of you who don’t know me by now, I’m an old soul. I LOVE the
#Isley Brothers.
I had to sit down and watch this show. There were so many things going on
for me back then, graduating from high school, going into the USAF, etc,
didn’t have time for tv back then, but, the memories are worth it!.
