i wish i could have seen more of fred berry. my mama talks about how bad he
was on this show…this was awesome. thanks for sharing. R.I.P. Don
Cornelius…the baddest conductor ever!
Loved SOUL TRAIN! It was a time of just sheer fun! Watching the dancers was
a treat every Saturday at 4:00..It was indeed an AMAZING and Magical time
and brings back fond warm memories…
Thank you Don Cornelius for bringing everybody together with Soul Train. If
racism ended today this is how I would want everyone in the world to
celebrate!! Peace Love and Soul to you Don. You will be missed!!
I must have watched this clip 25 or 30 times. This is the first time I
noticed that Fred Berry’s partner looks back at him, at 1:13, and switches
into slow-mo herself!
I dunno. I don’t know many white people who can’t dance very well. I can
think of a ton of black performers who danced while they sang (Michael
Jackson, James Brown, etc.) and I can’t think of a single white person who
danced while singing other than the crap like Backstreet Boys or New Kids.
perfect song and perfect video to portray Don Cornelius’ legacy. You gave a
stage to artists when nobody else would, you gave an avenue to urban
America so they could show the world how to really get down and funky. RIP
Don Cornelius, may your body rest in Love, Peace and SOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUL.
Did I see Franklin Ajaye in the line at about 2:05?

I think it is probably related more to culture than skin color.

Man, I was born in the WRONG era!!! -__- I missed out!!!
This video makes me feel nostalgic…the funny thing is that I wasn’t even
born in the 70’s
Don, we love you… now and forever. You helped racial harmony and made the
70’s so damn cool! Thank you for making my Saturday mornings awesome.
