Lou Ski…ROTFLMAO I am so shamed I grew up thinking we were the BOMB I was
in High School at this time…. I straight laughed my ass off watching
this I actually watched the WHOLE thing…
Omg soul train gone and lost its soul! Just a bloody train by the late
’80s. I do not know how anyone can say this is comparable to the soul train
of the ’70s! That line dance just looked like egos and cocaine and overly
aggressive sexual posturing from the “ladies”. The funk had gone, that magic
ingredient was missing and when the funk has gone well the party is well
and truly over!!
who was the tall light skin complexion dancer who made dancing look fun he
always dressed the part long trench coats like a stripper?Does anyone
remember him I think they called him Hollywood
After watching numerous 1980’s Soul Trains, I’m convinced American Apparel
is just phoning in there entire catalog from previous episodes….haha. May
I give you exhibit one – the silent 1989 Soul Train…totes eerie!
man they should bring this back, seeing how dancing is today with shows
like so you think you can dance, this show would be in fire compared to how
good it was before.
lol I get it. She told me that when Cube pushed on her head in the video
she told him to stop doing that. Did he have to push on her head like that?
She said Cube is a fool!lol!
I don’t see any of them actually dancing. The ladies seem to be show casing
their best hip-thrusting abilities and the men seem to be show casing how
high they can jump or fling their arms out.
That’s Robin Power Royal at 1:15. She’s Prince’s ex and she was in his
movie Grafitti Bridge as Morris Day’s girlfriend. She’s been in quite a few
videos. She was in Prince’s extented version of Thieves in the Temple. She
was also in Ice Cube’s video Today was a good day. She’s a really pretty
lady and she does rap. She also a dancer and a painter of art.
Don Cornelius was initially critical and wasnt digging the whole rap/hip
hop culture. He tried to be less critical and more accepting but you could
tell in the interviews after a hiphop artist finished performing that Don
was a fish out of water, When a young artist would say something like, “i
wanna give it up to my boyz Mac QD and my Possee”, you could see Don
standing there like “what the hell”……lol He wasnt relating to it and
soon surrender it to a new host. The show soon moved to 3am
Ohhhhh……….shit! The girl at 1:13, that’s the same chick that was in
the first House Party movie. Was dancing at Play’s party wearing a bra just
like that.
thats funny, I think we bragged too much back in the 70′ and 80’s about us
having all the rhythm, and we did to the fullest!.. now we’re seeing black
kid with no rhythm who to blame? well when sex and money took over the
hearts of man, music lost its souls because it became the love of money,
not the love of the art and we’re paying for it big time now.
Everyone was was gay and on cocaine in the 80’s

though.
