Music all across the board was happening. You had Mayfield, Chicago,
ThreeDog Knight, Led Zeppelin, Marvin, Carole King, Aretha, James Brown,
CCR, Miles had “Bitches Brew” the previous year. smh awesome awesome
period
I never get tired of watching these soul train dancers! They are so natural
and entertaining to watch. But did any of you spot the white guy in
disguise at 2:15 ???
2:56 – bad ASSSSS – a line WITHIN the soul train line. 2 crews, 1 right in
front of the other, rocking to their own beat, but STILL ON BEAT TO THE
SONG. Cold mofos!
Soul Train was the crank!!!!! Stay tuned for information regarding an
upcoming lip synch event featuring plenty of music, dancing and a very
SPECIAL guest!!!! Information will be foethcoming.
People, people, people! Can’t we all just get along!? Are we ever going
to grow up? As someone said below, most countries have had some kind of
ups and downs, including persecutions. I believe that since we have
recently ‘felt’ it within the last handful of centuries-and IMO each new
century modified it somewhat-‘we’ keep it close to our chest. However, we
do have to face the fact that numerous peoples wore braided hair styles, it
just became a way to ‘stand out’ for us. Let Bo Derek go and do it and
people wanted to rip her braids out. ‘We’ initially got on Eminem.
Remember a line out of his song about shamelessly doing what Elvis did?
Did we forget that Elvis grew up as poor as some of us did, that he was
influenced by the same sounds that Aretha et al was? He just had more
interest in Nashville–one side of that river–than Memphis but of course
he was aware of it.
Just about all of us have something like these in our histories. Don’t
forget: so many people came here to escape that kind of past.
In the end, I don’t balk about again and again hearing all of this because
it is a history. it just bugs me because we just won’t LET IT GO! If you
keep looking in the past, it does make it harder to move forward.
Brother Curtis, Rest In peace, you legacy continues to live on, this song
is without equal, the Soul Train Dancers “go in hard”, can you blame
them……?
Our people are so spirited and rhythmic!
(((((MUCH LOVE)))))
PS: Don Cornelius was TOO COOL!!
I love my black people.

If you can’t get down, stay down… if you can’t dig it, get a shovel.

Fashion Police! Have mercy!
Major offences committed, arrest every last one of them!
Does anyone know for sure from what year was this show where they are
showing this Sou Train Line in particular? Thanks!
I feel like Penny from Hairspray being totally enamored with this!
I love it, what happened to us really loving each other.
This is why it is such an insult to Black people when the media crowns
Elvis as King. He is not OUR king.
White people return their dancing shoes to the store, as they too
intimidated to use them no more.
