Cursed is the one who NOT only took this kind of pure joy music and dance
moves away from African descendants but also watered down their rhythm,
corrupted their dance moves with video whores, polluted their lyrics with
bitches, hoes, gold teeth, saggy pants and glamorized occultism. May the
new glorious day of the African dawn quickly in this generation.
Before all the silly gold teeth grilles, saggy pants, rap “I hate the
bitch” music, there was this! Bravo! At .46 in the video, you actually see
a guy leading a lady around the dance floor — what a concept — instead of
he listening to misogynistic rap bulls**t.
Too much fun – I just love this! My Hip Hop instructor does this with my
class to get us comfortable with freestyle and improvisation. We’re
actually doing this toward the end of “Grammy Family” in our recital.
Thanks for posting!
Sorry,I wasn’t even born yet when this episode of Soul Train was taped on
January 27th 1979 with guest stars Brass Construction, Peaches & Herb and
Captain Sky but I saw it on WGN Chicago in reruns in 2008
back in the day :-)
